What do you think The Decider will do when he leaves the White House?  And what do you think he SHOULD do?  Be as serious or as smartass as you want.

Retire to his Crawford ranch, and live out the rest of his life peacefully.  I do not expect him not to have some sense of a political life, but it will in all likelihood be behind-the-scenes.

I am skipping over your second question....  Tongue

Didn't he buy some ranch land in Paraguay or something? I remember reading that somewhere.

Eh, it's not really clear. There are rumors that he, or his father, bought several thousand acres, but there doesn't seem to be any solid proof and the local government isn't really saying anything.

Here's a Guardian article that kind of covers it: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2006/oct/23/mainsection.tomphillips

There's more to the "story" if you can call it that, it really descends more into a conspiracy theory at some point though. Jenna went down there for mysterious reasons a few years ago, and the Paraguayan government passed this law back in 2005 that said they wouldn't deport international war criminals, and there are some US troops down there now, and the land is right near a military base and large natural gas reserves on the Bolivian border, and somehow that weird Rev. Moon guy is somehow tied in as well.

The Google should reveal lots more if anyone is so inclined.

He should take a few weeks for a well deserved vacation, and then get back out there and keep pushing for international security and freedom.  No reason for him to stop.

Maybe one of the oil companies or Haliburton will give him a high-paying job. You know, kinda like for services rendered for the past 5 years.

I certainly don't wish him any ill, much as I despise virtually everything he has done as President.

I am thinking he'll be writing a lot, too.  Thankfully, there are ghost writers who can make him sound edumacated.

Well, I think Bush should first take a long time off, as long as McCain is in the White House, then he can reenter the public eye perhaps dedicating himself to an issue he finds pressing and trying to rally support.  By then, America will most likely view his foreign policy as a success and his approvals will be high

Except that he's only funny when he screws up trying to say something that wouldn't otherwise be funny. His actual jokes are pretty bland.

Probably follows the Truman/Clinton mode, and stays politically active, with an emphasis on foreign policy and security issues.

Former President Bush and former First Lady Bush will retire back to their ranch in Crawford, Texas. Where Bush will start writing his memoirs, thats if he knows how to read and write Wink. On ocassions Bush will make a speech here and there, but none at Republican Party gatherings around the country, nor deep in the heart of Texas.

He'll go back to his ranch and, relieved of the immense pressure to be an upstanding public figure, start drinking and snorting coke openly once more.
