Vote for up to 2 of your favorite flags from the Western United States.  The winning flag will receive a bid to the next round.  The 2nd place flag will get a chance to reach the next round later.  The remaining flags will be eliminated.
Voting will be done in approximately 24 hour increments.

While the Hawaiian flag looks very busy in an online representation, it actually very esthetically pleasing in real life.

I vote for it, and Alaska.  Alaska more by default since I think those other flags are kinda ugly, though not nearly as bad as the last batch.

I voted Alaska, yeah I can tell you're all surprised. Tongue

Then I voted Hawaii. I like their flag, but also they're separated from the rest of the country, just like Alaska. Solidarity, if you will. Tongue

I also want to say that I really, really, really like Arizona's flag. I like it a lot.

California would be next, followed by Washington.

1. Alaska - I know it's supposed to be representative of the Aleutians but it looks like a soup ladle.  Oh, well.  Still good.

2. California - It has a bear on it.  That's pretty awesome.

3. American Samoa - The best of the MS Paint flags.

4. Hawai'i - Looks great on a pole, crappy elsewhere.

5. Nevada - Nevada likes to pretend it was involved in a war for some reason.  It also named a city "Battle Mountain" even though that city has no history involving battles whatsoever.

6. Oregon - Eh.

7. Utah - Eh.

8. Arizona - Could have been a cool design but I don't like the colors.  Comes off more as dessert than desert.

9. Northern Mariana Islands - Weird.

10. Washington - George Washington looks creepy.  I hate our flag.

11. Guam - MS Paint horror.

I really like the Californian one, and then I assume the Arizonan flag looks good on a pole, even if it looks a little crappy on a computer monitor.

I assume the "battle born" thing for Nevada is because the unionists brought it into the union during the Civil War. At least that is my recollection.
