If we knew, this'd be interesting to analyze.

Proposed Amendment No. 1

A vote FOR this amendment will authorize the Legislature to permit certain cities
to invest public endowment funds in the same manner as would a prudent investor. The
cities, acting with care, skill and diligence, would be responsible to act exclusively to
protect and benefit the public endowment investments subject to limitations as the
Legislature may provide.

A vote AGAINST this amendment will retain the existing restrictions that prohibit
investments in stocks of private corporations and associations.

A constitutional amendment to allow the investment of public
endowment funds by cities authorized by the Nebraska Constitution to
establish a charter.

Which color means yes, and which one means no?

Why did this referendum come up this year and not in 1974 or 1982?  Stocks were extremely undervalued back then.  Today, the stock market is stuck in a Beaniemania.  You'd think that the Blair Witch was artificially propping up stock prices.

That makes me wonder if "None of the Above" is on the ballot when Nevada holds referenda.

Would Warren Buffett have any say in which stocks are purchased?
