That's a pretty zany swing in the Clinton numbers from last time - McCain +7 to Clinton +14.  Yikes.

Could McCain break 60% against Obama?

This is a Rasmussen poll. Now that they feel safe Clinton will not be the nominee, they can stop lying.

Well, understandably, Clinton does indeed perform much better than Obama in AR as the wife of a successful former president and governor; however, given there's not a rolling paper of difference between the two Democrats on the issues, what else other than race explains such a huge discrepancy?

Clinton and Obama are both Democrats and she is no more a cultural populist than what he is

Obama was down 29 in the last Rasmussen poll, he's now down 24.

Arkansas would have been tough sledding against Hillary - another state McCain won't have to worry about now that Obama is getting the nomination - as with West Va and Florida.

Yes, one of the most accurate pollsters is definitely lying in their results. Get real.

McCain will break 60% in KY, AR, and WV this year.

You think Clinton would be harder to defeat?

Very much so. I thought Rasmussen was stopping their polls with Hillary in them and just going Obama v. McCain.

Perfect example of a fickle electorate.  Clinton was the former first lade of Arkansas so, yup, we'll vote for her.  Obama is black so we won't vote for him.  Wow, the American public is stupid.

Oh, and BTW, you wanna talk stupid.  I recently spoke with someone (about 50 years old )who had nothing but bad things to say about Obama.  After a minute I began to realize that she didn't like him because he was running against Clinton.  Hold on, it gets real bad at this point.  She assumed that he was the Republican candidate since he was running against Hillary.  I can hardly stand it.

OUCH

Yes, of course he does. ha. Too bad this has to do with him going up against John McCain.

not 60%, but Arkansas will definitely be in Solid Territory i.e. >10% for McCain. You're forgetting about the state's African-American and liberal turnout. 1972 and 1984 are the only times a Republican has broken 60% in AR and those were landslides.
