Which GOP reps in swing districts or ones that will be close this year are pulling their own weight?  Which aren't?

What does "pulling their own weight" mean?  Is this an electability or policy question?

I mean electability (raising a lot of money and working hard).

Some of them have already "won" through behind the scenes work in avoiding strong challengers, like Frank LoBiondo.

With regard to the rest, I'd assume Gerlach is working damn hard.  He's up to $1.5 million raised so far, I believe.

There certainly are quite a few of them. I'll name one that you all expect me to, and that's Chris Shays. He really isn't get the support he needs from the NRCC, because they are full of idiots. They are dumping money into seats where we should win, but dont because they put up horrible candidates.  At this point, with the money the NRCC has, Chris is pretty much on his own.

Of CQ's competative districts:
John Shadegg
Marilyn Musgrave
the 3 Cubans
Vern Buchanan
Pete Roskam
Mark Steven Kirk
Michele Bachmann
Robin Hayes
the Ohio Steves
The 4 PA guys (Murphy, English, Dent, Gerlach)
Shelley Moore Capito

Walberg, Knollenberg, Heller, and Porter aren't doing bad, though

Porter, Reichert, Gerlach, Shays, Kirk, Buchanan, Hayes, and Chabot are all raising money, hiring top consultants, holding campaign events across their districts and doing everything else that is necessary for them to be "pulling their own weight".  For example, The DCCC dropped $1.1 million on Shays with a week before election day 2006; Shays still won by 3%.

Chabot, Hayes, Kirk, and Reichert will all be hurt by Obama's coattails. Of that quartet, Kirk is the most vulnerable. Although Mark Kirk has an over $2 million warchest (!), he faces a politically deadly confluence of events. First, his district is rapidly trending Democratic. Second, his  '06 underfunded opponent won 47% without any major assistance from the state or national Democrats. Third,  home state favorite Obama will be leading the ticket. Finally, Kirk's Democratic foe is a near facsimile of Obama.

The perception around here is that Reichert is sucking at this campaign. I'm too tired to go into more details right now though.
