I think we should tax pollutants. This, to me, makes a lot more sense than outright banning them because it's so much more flexible. It basically makes the free market work better by making a more envitonment-friendly alternative more profitable.

It might also be a good idea to abolish the EPA and let the states handle it. This could help ensure that obsessive, overly cautious taxation didn't occur.

Plus states with smarter environmental policies could attract business, boosting their economies.

Or allow corporations to control it.

I used to work at a summer camp, and while working there 1991 was always referred to as "The Year of the Shrimp". The camp had dammed a Creek that leads to California's Russian River (Austin Creek), and had a little lake to teach canoeing lessons, crew lessons, swimming lessons, etc. However, the EPA sued the camp because in the lake was a Shrimp that was apperently endangered. When they let the dam loose, all the shrimp died, because the dam had made a habitat for the shrimp.

Therefore, we should abolish the EPA.

Unless some state implemented a bunch of idiot policies just to attract business...but hell, you could say that about foreign states.
