This was originally mine, so I may as well explain it. In the past, December elections were held earlier in the month than other elections, so as to prevent low turnout which would come from a lack of computer access for many over the holidays. This clause was left out in an oversight from the last voting times amendment, so this amendment fixes that.

As SoFA, I feel it is prudent for me to chime in here.

It is my own personal opinion that the timing of the December 2007 Elections had little negative consequence on turnout.  Pushing elections later or earlier is largely a wash.

As such, I personally have no strong opinion on this bill.  If the Senate as a whole supports it, then I, as SoFA, will gladly support and enforce it.

In all fairness, I think there's little to debate here.  This bill is not exactly the most controversial thing ever written.

I'm really undecided on this December Elections Amendment. Whilst, I support any initative to get more Atlasian citizens to the Polls, the low turn out in last December's Elections was contributed to two things: The Christmas Period and the lack of interest in the Elections.

I would like to as Mr. Xahar, the man who put forth this piece of legislation to elaborate on how such an Act would bring more people to the polls.

It wouldn't be over the holidays. Thus, less people would be on vacation and more would have the chance to access their computers.

I'm a little unclear - is this a constitutional amendment or an amendment to Atlasian law?
