Ran across this game and thought of you folks.

How well can you do in balancing the budget?

That was good fun.

I reduced debt and downsized government.

I destroyed the debt, by increasing taxes, cutting military spending but still managed to have Universal Healthcare, and increase green funding.

I almost eliminated debt, defrayed budget bust until 2070+, implemented universal healthcare, and raised taxes enormously. And I did it all while shrinking the size of government. Shocked

Summary: Cut pork, social security (especially for the wealthy), corporate taxes, military spending, foreign aid, and some other useless stuff. Increased funding for universal healthcare and education through select tax raises.

Reduced debt from 37.7% of GDP to 13.8%
Delayed the bust until 2068.

I
- held back future tax cuts from all except the worst-off
- capped greenhouse emissions
- Increased funding to education, infrastructure, health, environment and housing support.
- I cut funding including, wealthy SS and medicare benefits, pork-barrel and military spending (while increasing funding to foreign aid and other non-war related peace building projects)

Got all three - Safety net, economic stimulus and green.
