This is one of the main reasons I stopped being a Republican.  They hate freedom as much as the Democrats.

But we're annoying people like BRTD.

I don't live my life to annoy people.  I certainly wouldn't vote that way.

Wow, what an idiot. Glad my state doesn't consider this type of crap. Though it is interesting that more socially conservative Iowa is even more pro-strip club than us (and probably one of the most pro-strip club states outside of the tourist ones.)

Truth be told, I don't even know if I'd support something like this. It's just funny to see a proposal that goes against BRTD's main obsession.

Luckily as I do not live in PA this will not affect me one iota if it passes or not.

pretty good idea.

i have a couple of problems with it though.  i dont like how the correlation between strip clubs and rape.  that is wrong.  money from this tax should go for something like education or replenishing bass in pennsylvania fresh waters.  but dont try to imply there is a link between strip club patrons and rape.

$5 may be a bit too steep.  it should be a percentage of admission price.  somewhere between 0.5-1%

Phil, you obviously forget that BRTD is our number one practicer of the "not in my backyard" principle.

PA can't tax the wealthy because of their stupid flat tax policy so they go for this and tax us poor horndogs.  NICE!!!  I'm now gonna do some research on the 145th and wonder if I should move up there and run against this clown.   BRTD, can I count on a campaign money from you? Smiley

$5 may be a bit too steep.  it should be a percentage of admission price.  somewhere between 0.5-1%

Two problems with that:

1-The admission fee is always a flat dollar fee. Say a $5 admission fee. It becomes $5.03-$5.05. Not a convenient number.
2-Easy loophole. Just have no admission fee, and make a drink mandatory, then make that drink more expensive. Already used in many clubs as a way to disguise the admission fee.

And if you don't agree with blaming strip clubs for rape (which I certainly agree with), why even have the tax? Why not fund this stuff through some other tax, like just a small raising of the sales tax (which would earn a lot more)?

People like BRTD should pay their fair share.

For what?

You'd get destroyed. It's Upper Bucks...and not the New Hope area either.

You do use its benefits.  Did you get financial aid?  Do you have right of freedom of expression?

Have you ever made a map and shaded it by how pro-Strip club the states are?

Looked.  Yeah, I probably would.  Although if there's a Dem who would put up a credible challenge, he or she may get a few dollars from me because of this.

And this proposed tax has nothing to do with those things. Plus I already pay the income tax, so I am "paying my fair share"
