With Gustaf's sudden resignation, Senator John F. Kennedy has ascended to the Presidency.  This leaves a vacancy in the Senate in District 5.

A special election will be held this weekend, September 3-5.  Unfortunately this will be Labor Day weekend.  If any voters anticipate having a problem voting because of this, please post in this thread.

I will allow a deadline of 48 hours before polls open to declare candidacy and be put on the ballot.  This would be Tuesday evening at midnight, Forum time.
