Sanders and Kerry.  But I like them all.  Hagel's awfully conservative on social issues but he is so right on the war, I gotta toss some liberal lubbin' his way.

Sanders and Kerry. They're not necessarily excellent Senators or anything, but I like both of them.

Okay, I can understand that the Battle of the Senators has turned into a left-wing lovefest, so I can understand why Sanders is doing so well, but other than losing to W. in 2004, why all the support for Kerry?

I'm gonna say Kerry and Hagel.

Concerning Hagel, I obviously don't agree with all of his positions, but I admire him very much as a person. He has shown that he is an independent thinker, and it does take a little courage to stand up to his party the way he has done. I respect that.

Especially on the war.  It's one thing to thumb your nose at your party on a particular domestic or even a foreign policy issue.  But when you oppose the war and you know they are calling opponents of the war things like "surrender monkey", "defeatocrat" and "America-haters"...it takes a truckload of guts.
