Just got back from a short trip to my neighbor upriver.  Really great city! I wish Memphis had half the urban vitality.

It is undoubtably one of the better American Cities to visit, but some parts of the city are downright nasty. However, the city has extremely beautiful areas, and most of the suburbs are well kept up.

texaslefty is going to move to Missouri to become a teacher here; I talked her into Kansas City area. Why? Mainly because her beginning income will likely be low, and low income areas in St. L SUCK!, but in Kansas City, they are no were as bad.

Missouri and Oklahoma are her favorite vacation destinations.. but she may live here untill California opens up to her.

Indeed, I've spent lots of time in this area. St. Louis truly is a nice city.

I have to admit its not a bad place compared to many others in the US.  Certainly better than any other midwestern city excepting of course Chicago and Minneapolis/St. Paul.

It was kind of odd to see the subject line 'Saint Louis!' though - we rarely see enough enthusiasm for the old hometown to warrant an exclamation point.

It's not a horrible city, I'd prefer not to move back though.

Much too hot and sticky... otherwise it was a nice city.
