jmfcst of course. Mainly because I can't see a Republican not winning Texas under any kind of normal circumstances in the near future...

I am not sure whether TX is THAT conservative, considering the fact that it's GWB's home state I don't think his result there was all that good. He didn't even get 60% there.

The vote will be hard, I think JMF and Migrendel are about as likely, but I'll vote for Migrendel since MA is more liberal than TX is conservative, imo.

I think it actually depends on what the election is for.
President
1 Dazzleman
2 Migrendel
3 jmf

Senator
1 jmf
2 Migrendel
3 Dazzleman

Governor
1 jmf
2 Dazzleman
3 Harry

Do I have to explain?

You mean that the citizens of Texas wouldn't want an extremist to be president of their nation and sit with his finger on the button, but rather to screw with the liberals in the senate?

Carter won Tx in 76' and even Humphrey in 68'

Yeah, it's gotten more Republican since then though, and it's been the home state of a VP or Presidential candidate of the GOP for every election since 1980, except 1996. That goes a long way to explain the conservatism of TX.

It was only 8% above national average for Dole, 12% for GWB and 3% for GHB in 1992. So it's not extremely Republican, more like Illinois or New Jersey for the Dems.
