Yes, he should be. The things he said about the Democratic Party and Barack Obama during the campaign were deplorable and inexcusable.

Yes. Can you imagine what would have happened if a sitting Republican Senator had attacked his party's presidential candidate as Holy Joe attacked Obama? Holy
sh
it. He would have counted himself lucky to "only" be kicked out of their caucus. Of course, Senate Democrats being what they are, they actually

Nah. The political costs of doing it outweigh any benefits. If it were up to me personally I probably would (not only supporting but actively campaigning for the opposite party's Presidential nominee is understandably frowned upon), but we might as well be the big tent party.

What I'll never understand is this attitude that Lieberman
owes
something to the Dems. Do you guys remember August 8th, 2006? I do. You beat him in the primary. You guys proved that you didn't want him. The guy comes back as an Independent and goes out of his way to actually help your party. He gave you guys the majority in 2006 after you told him to go screw himself. Yet you all still have the audacity to moan about how he isn't perfect. Amazing.

I would whine about the partisan stuff (donating to and campaigning for Democratic candidates and stuff like that) but not about the guy deciding to caucus with us if he won the General as an Independent. Gilchrist wouldn't owe me or my party a damn thing but I'd be obligated to give him credit if he sided with us after we beat him in a primary.

Regardless of his views on foreign policy, Lieberman campaigned against democratic candidates. The Party can accept differences in belief but outright backstabbing of Party members is not something to tolerate or encourage.
