I think subtlety is lost on the likes of Big John.

Texans are such tards.

His reaction (in the next video) was to the effect of "maybe I should get some new staff."  Maybe.

No, just our (I'm still a registered Texan voter for obvious reasons) elected officials are.

Before I click, is this an "everything's biggest in Texas" joke gone horribly, horribly wrong?

I so hope the answer is no

It's kind of like Cows with Guns, except with John Cornyn as the main character.

That's not a uniquely Texan trait, though. The way the politicians appeal to voters is probably the most pathetic tribute to faux-machoism one could ever have the disprivelage of being exposed to, though. And that, frankly, doesn't speak very highly of the electorate.

Not exactly, though that would be an amusing political add.. assuming you meant genitalia. Did you? I want you to have. Sad

to get elected statewide in Texas, all you have to do is follow the three-point plan for success:
1. Be a Republican
2. Have a pulse
3. Pose for a photo op in a cowboy hat. Bonus points if you're wearing cowboy boots or carrying a lasso.

Ya, this type of crap tends to play well in Texas.  Oklahoma too.  It's just a function of both states.

Not necessarily.  I'm sure all those Lyndon Johnson supporters would love to elect one of their own.

I don't recall seeing Kay Bailey Hutchison or Carol Keeton McClellan Rylander Strayhorn wearing a cowboy hat.

unlike a few other states, I can't recall Texas ever having elected a dead man, at least not in the modern era.

This image burned into my brain when it took place in 2001.

I don't really understand what the point of posting this video is other than to show John Cornyn making some good points about Texas (vis-a-vis its advantages over a rustbelt state like Ohio).  But then again when I first saw the video about George Allen making the macacca statement I kept wondering what was so horribly  racist about the remark (in fact I still don't know what was so bad about it since explanation from a leftist I heard is patently ridiculous and downright absurd)
