I have no idea because I don't smoke.  But I refuse to criticize smokers.  A fat man criticizing someone with the nicotine habit is rather like an alcoholic shaking his finger at a dope fiend.

I checked with my smoker colleagues - I was a little out of date on the Thai prices.  International brands like Marlebourough are around 65-70 baht, so $2 or so.  Thai brands are $1.00-1.50.

The cheapest are around $3.50/pack and the main brands are around $4.50-$5.00

American Spirits are $5.60/pack.

I don't even smoke... but I manage a store that sells pipes, tobacco, and cigars.  Minnesota has 70% added tax plus 7% sales tax and $.75/pack "health impact fee" on each pack of cigarettes.

I personally find smoking to be disgusting and I would never do it.. but sometimes I can understand where taking a break and going out and smoking a cigarette would be good stress relief... I just can't do that to my lungs.

Depends. I usually buy Benson and Hedges Smooth 25s, and at the IGA they're about $11. At Quick 'N Go, they're $14, and most places they cost about $12.50 aussie, so about $11 USD. As such, I smoke far less now than I did when they had less tax, which means, I suppose, that price hikes work if you want to reduce smoking. That said, I could buy cheaper cigarettes or rolling tobacco if I wanted to save money.

Probably around £5.80 (£11.46) or something for 20 pack of Marlboro lights, although I'm not sure of the exact price as I only smoke roll-ups now as it's a lot cheaper..
