No. I usually park it in my garage which is in my gated community where security guards keep out people who make less than $100,000 a year. Parking it on the street risks poor people stealing my rims, ripping my Mercedes Benz emblem off the hood or something like that.

$100,000? That's nothing.

I have a driveway. I live in the sixth largest city in the United States. BRTD lives in a city smaller than mine. BRTD logic fails again.

No. I have no car and no TV. And I sleep on a simple mattress.

Do I win?

So you mean the point of this isn't to bash suburbs and say that cities don't have off street parking?

We could make the limit higher if you hadn't taxed us to death. If you have your way, no one would make over $75,000 and the homeless would receive $50,000 straight from the government!

I wish I had off-street parking. Believe it or not I don't enjoy driving around for 15 minutes looking for a spot after word only to have to end up parking three blocks away (see tonight.)

Why have a car when you can take public transportation? Isn't that the way real cosmopolitanites do it?

Because I work in a suburb. I take the bus to spots around the city, or walk.

Oh, by the way: yes. There's a parking lot in the back of the building, though it's often full with people who don't live here and need to go the hell away. In such a case I park on the street. It's not a big risk, though there's been plenty of incidents since we moved here.

Apple has tech support in suburbs? Interesting ..

It's an inner-ring suburb. Across the river from the airport. I'm closer to it than I am to Minneapolis' northeast neighborhoods. My building actually has a really awesome view of the Minneapolis skyline.

http://www.city-data.com/city/Mendota-Heights-Minnesota.html

The funny thing is that basically everyone who works there lives in the cities while just about everyone who actually can afford to live there (no one at my job that's for sure) no doubt works in the cities.

Doesn't change the fact that we make $250k per annum.

I park my car in front of our house or when a hail or snow storm is coming at our neighbors garage. They have a vacation home next to our house, but are not here 95% of the year so I basically own their garage - of course with their permit. Wink

Take it easy guys, 100,000 in South Carolina is probably equivalent to 250,000 in Los Angeles or the Bay area.  How do you fellows receive so much money?

Oh and AHDuke - rims?  Isn't the white way to say that a hubcap?

That means you do have off-street parking... Off-street parking means parking that isn't just parking on the side of the road. If you have a driveway, live in an apartment building that has a parking lot for residents, or have your own garage, then you have off-street parking.

Oh I forgot to report - I do have offstreet parking for my motorbike, but not for the car.  I have to park the car quite far away.  It is very fortunate that a motorbike parking-lot is provided as the street outside floods at good 6 inches during/after downpours in rainy season.  I wouldn't want to have to 1) wait 2+ hours for it to subside or 2) put my foot in the water, in order to take off on the bike.

I was talking about minimum salaries behind my gated community. Mr. Socialist was the one who felt it necessary to broadcast his parents annual income to everyone, only making himself look more ridiculous for being a socialist.

And yes, rims. While I dont have any bling on my tires, das how we roll in Chucktown!!!

Yeah, it's really not good etiquette to mention how much money you make (much less your parents) outside of a few very VERY specific situations.  A political forum isn't one of the few....unless you want people to think you're an ass.

Why are they apportioned all that money?  In other words, how do they get it?  (I'm guessing they're the doctor type, not the taxi-driver type of... Wink)
