''IF'' Bush wins re-election, how will his second term be? I'm trying to be non-partisan here, but I believe his second term will be terrible. The Democrats will take the Senate this year, and the House will be tight. Iraq will continue to cause trouble, as will oil prices (due to China's continued hoarding and fluctuations in the Middle East) The economy will continue to shed jobs and consumure growth will remain weak. I can see a new 'malaise' setting in and not lifing until 2007. The Democrats will seize the House in 2006, putting the axe to any domestic policy the Bush administration tries to put into play. If Bush eyes Iran, he will not recieve British backing for any action, diplomatic or military, he wishes to take. Australia under Mark Latham, will withdraw its troops shortly after the 2004 election. Besides Tony Blair will not last beyond 2006, he will step down, if he isn't pushed. New PM Gordon Brown will not be as accomodating as his predecessor. Eyes on 2008, the Democrats will be extremely upbeat, and the Republicans will be split. The 'faux' unity between moderates and the Christian right will fall apart, and public displays of division will be on show. The economy will kick start in 2008, but will not be enough to boost Bush's approval ratings, or help any Republican candidates in the primaries. Mc Cain will not run, Giuliani will not run. Jeb Bush will, but will loose to an 'unknown' Republican, who come November will be up against a well known Democrat. Nader will be history by then, but the Libetarians won't be. A strong 3rd party challenge will gather about 6% in the election, which the Democrats will walk.

This should be in the election "what-if's" section.

Personally I think if Bush wins re election, the economy will have a collapse led by the housing bubble bursting(and this would happen if Kerry was in charge as well). 2006 for the Democrats will be like what 94 was for the GOP, and the last 2 years of Bush term will be pathetic, and the 2008 elections will be a landslide for the Democrats. The paleo-cons will seize control of the GOP and spit the Neo-Cons out for destroying a viable conservative movment and the US after 2008 will more or less become a Social Democracy.

And what will Bush say? That free trade as currently practiced will bring utopia? That US involvment in more wars to bring "liberty" will bring about utopia? That uncontrolled immigration to the US is good? Sorry, but the man is clear out of ideas except for selling out American Citziens so big and small business' can collect their 30 peices of silver.

If he doesn't, then his poll figures will drop.  However, he has already promised to lay out his domestic agenda tomorrow, so we'll have to wait and see.  Someone had mentioned that Bush will try to continue with his Social Security reform (which was placed on the back burner thanks to 9/11) and possibly continuing to tweak the Medicare reform.  Outside of that, it'll have to be a surprise.

If Bush somehow wins a second term I predict he will beset by a scandle ridden term the likes we have not seen.

Seems there is some recent precidence for this second term phenomenon:
Clinton - Monica Impeachment fiasco
Reagan - Iran/Contra Affair
Nixon - Watergate
Johnson - Didn't run because of the scandel Vietnam had become.

Bush already has Iran Contra II, with the Israeli-spy gate mess.

Just hope people dont forget Plame-gate, lack-of-WMD-gate, Chalabi-gate, Abu Ghraib-gate and the rest of the other scandals that have plagued his administration.

Just because a president says he'll do something or that something will happen, doesn't mean it will. And I'm talking in general terms here, so don't freak out "OMG U R TEH LIBERAL" on me.
''IF'' Bush wins re-election, how will his second term be?

if or when?
He could run in 2008, 2012, 2016 etc etc if he loses...
HAHAHAHA
