It's not that interesting. I have one Dutch immigrant great grandparent and the rest were all here by the end of the American Revolution Tongue

1 was born on the ship to Australia.

Rest were presumably born in NSW. NFI where exactly though. I know one was a country boy who moved to Sydney though, but that's only because of a speech made during his widow's funeral.

On both sides, my family is from the former Soviet Union/Russia.

My Mother's side seems to be, entirely, from Derbent and its nearby areas.
My Father's side is kind of divided by Derbent and Nalchik. My paternal grandfather's side being from Nalchik, while my paternal grandmother's side being from Derbent.

One of my mother's brother's wife's family is from Azerbaijan (Baku), so I guess there's that too.

Other then that, I don't know too much about the family's time in the North Caucasus.

All 8 in Butthump, Iowa.  Two of them were cousins who fled to Nebraska to get married (cuz they're OK with that) and fled back to breed my wacky grandma.

M**: Ohio, some rural towns outside (some south of) Mansfield
FFF: According to my Dad, he was born in the same Hungarian village outside Budapest that the family had been in for generations. However, the village is listed as part of the German Empire. Dad says this is just because of the shifting of borders during the period.
FFM: Mansfield, Ohio
FMF: Austria-Hungary
FMM: Unknown

The shifting of borders was the other way. Are you certain you correctly identified the village?

Impressive that you can answer this.  I can trace my ancestry back only to my grandparents, none of whom were born in the USA.  I know what countries they were born in, but not the cities in all cases.  Beyond that the thread gets a too thin.  I have written down all I know about my grandparents and my wife's grandparents in my son's baby book, so that he'll be able to name his great grandparents and tell where they were born, etc.
