I'm 28 years old and I'm fortunate that all my grandparents are still alive. (KNOCK ON WOOD)

Sadly though, my mother's father has alcohol related dementia.

Except for my paternal grandfather, who died a few months before I was born of a heart attack in their home in Sacramento, they all died somewhere they did not live until the few months, or, in the case of my father's mother, days, of their lives.

Sorry to hear that, Xahar. But it is slow moving disease. My mother has it, among her other numerous medical problems. But at this point, she is unaware she has any medical problems. The only she remembers once in awhile anymore, is her childhood in Davenport, and that doesn't last long.

Both my grandparents on my mother's side died in Arkansas many several years ago.

My dad's parents are still alive and live here in Ohio.
