Let's just say, if he was running against Gene Amondson, Amondson would be a vote richer.

Never. I would vote for Arnaud Montebourg, Francois Bayrou, and the President of Poitou over him!

Does Alaska have open primaries? If so, I would if Reps found a credible primary challenger for him, like a shot.

Who would he be running against?  Obviously not in the primary but probably in the general.

Why is everyone hating on Uncle Ted?

I voted yes - mostly because I have voted for him in the past, and I would certainly rather have him than Begich.

That being said, I think it is time for him to move on - he's old, out of touch, and has the black cloud of controversy hanging over his head.  I'm throwing my support behind Dave Cuddy, or maybe the Libertarian candidate (although he seems to be pretty much out there).  Unfortunately, the Republican primary is only open to Republicans and Nonpartisan/Undeclared voters - so I won't be able to vote for Cuddy in the primary.

Well, they weren't really bridges to nowhere...

But, I agree - they were pork projects, and no reason tax payers from the other 49 states need to be paying for our roads/bridges (at least not beyond our fair share of the funds being allocated to every state for transportation needs).

As a commuter that gets stuck in the traffic between the valley and Anchorage every day, I would really like to see the Knik Arm bridge get built.

You're a Libertarian and you don't know why people hate Ted Stevens?

Oh, wait. You're also an Alaskan.  Tongue

Love him or hate him, at one time he was third in the line of succession to the Presidency.

Could be again if he's reelected and the Republicans someday manage to regain control of the Senate...

Scary.

That said, he'll be gone before the Republicans are back in power.
