How are books by Conrad Black?

I read his biography of Roosevelt which I though was pretty good.

Tainted?

No they are actually very good, particularly his book about Nixon. Sometimes you have to put character aside. The bigraphy of James Maxton by Gordon Brown is superb (his more recent 'compiled' works on the greats are however strenuous) -  perhaps he should have made a career out of that.

I would never read any of his books. I boycott them, in a way.

I recenty bought and read Black's biography of Richard Nixon. I'd give the book 7.5/10. His style is enjoyable and book is very readable, and very opinionated (every major political player on American and world stage gets a FF/HP treatment of sorts). But there are too many factual errors for my taste and I wonder if anyone even read his manuscript before printing. For example, he identifies SC Justice Lewis Powell as "an old Georgia Democrat" when he was in fact from Virginia and stuff like that ads up over 1000+ pages.

Definitely a better writer than Conrad White and Conrad Green, but not on the same level as Conrad Brown and Conrad Grey.

Own all of them except his memoirs, thoroughly enjoyed all of them even if I don't agree with all his conclusions, especially on Nixon.
