I think they all stay in as long as they all earn delegates here.

Me too.  Dean should drop out, but he chooses to make a mockery of himself and to stay in.

Surprisingly good for Edwards, but I doubt that it's good enough.

I saw another poll which had Edwards within 8 of Kerry.

Dean should drop out, but I'm not counting on it.

Kinda neat seeing that... my wife and I both voted Edwards, AND answered the exit poll.  Since our precinct is home to a huge truck manufacturer and UAW chapter, I'm guessing it's strong Kerry territory.  Which means we just may possibly have skewed the exit poll ;-)

Rolling, Rolling Rolling…

Yeah I tell ya we’re going on…and we’re going to win Hawaii and California and Georgia and Maryland and Ohio and New York and Florida and Mississippi and Texas and Louisiana… Yeaaaaaahhhhh…………..

Oh sorry getting carried away there… if these numbers are accurate then Dean should bow out and endorse Edwards (could sight Edwards opposition to free trade and Edwards outsider label) but it remains to be seen if he will do the decent thing… Edwards can now stay in but he will have to work his arse off to get beyond Super Tuesday… he will need to work hard on Utah and Idaho and Hawaii that come up before ST…as for ST itself… I would argue that Edwards should concentrate on CA, GA (Roy Barnes will come in useful there), NY and OH… if Edwards can win GA as well as two other states (which really have to include either OH, NY or CA) then he has the “moe” and the media will be all over him…then on “southern Tuesday” the next week he will hopefully be pretty much able to sweep it this will give you a real race through March… this scenario is still very unlikely even if these exit polls are correct but Edwards will need to spin this second place hard (if 2nd it really is) however if he can do that and win GA and a couple of other big important states then he is back in a two man race…unlikely this is but not impossible…hell here’s hoping.. I mean weather its Kerry or Edwards they need to be battle hardened and not simply crowed the nominee…

Fingers crossed…

How about Kerry-Edwards 2004?  As I see it, a Northern Establishment Democrat has NO chance at the White House.  But add a Southern Moderate into the mix, and there MIGHT be a SLIGHT chance to defeat Bush, IF all of the following:

-We're still in Iraq in October, with the same rate of US casulties.
-The economy nosedives to 2002 levels
-No capture of OBL
-No major terrorist catastophe *

If you truly are ABB, you should throw your cards in with Edwards.

* You would think a terrorist attack would be seen as a security failure by Bush, but it would have a much bigger effect of scaring large numbers of Americans away from unseating a president who has taken such a hard line on national security.  Who wants someone who will thow cow-tow to the UN when our lives are at stake?  Mind you, this isn't necessarily how I feel, but it would be the feelings of huge numbers of Americans - and kill any Democrat chances.

On the last point...that's what I tried to say previously, at last someone says the same! Thanks! Smiley

Yeah Beef join the great tradition of moderate Midwestern democrats…like err…um… me and oh yeah Truman, Glenn , Bayh its great I tell ya… and we have Edwards as the voice of moderate populism…not a real southern conservative dem like your Breaux’s or Lincoln’s but a progressive middle of the way kinda guy…do you agree?

By the way did you vote in the primary today? And who for?

Yea!  Go Edwards!  If he finishes with 5-6 of Kerry, and Dean drops out, the race is far from over.  Edwards will need all that media attention Dean got and then Kerry tho.

Wisconsin is even more extreme than NH in that even Republicans can vote in the Democratic primary. I'm not sure whether I support that or not.

I think with that result Dean will drop out. I think that may have been his intentional strategy the last few days with the Steve Grossman news. If not Dean will be degraded to Kucinich-like status, and the media will cover him less. This puts Edwards in good shape, if he can pull off a victory between now and Super Tuesday, he is on the right path.

About the only issue that keeps me from voting Democrat more often is Abortion.  I think it should be banned except for life/health/rape/incest reasons.  But I also resent the Republicans for hijacking this issue, and I refuse to be a one-issue voter like so many other Pro-Lifers.

When Democrats come out en force against a ban on partial-birth abortion, that is what keeps my avatar green.

I'm against that, the parties shoudl choose their respective nominees, not the opposing party.
