Since the constitution does not specificy who can open this booth and since I started the petition and it conceivably a conflict of interest for the Lt. Gov., I shall open this booth

In accordance with a petition signed by the necessary six members of the Southeast, a vote is now called on recalling Governor KoTBP.  A vote in the affirmative is to remove the governor, a vote in the negative is to allow him to stay in office.  No campaign shall be allowed in this booth.

Also in accordance with the constitution, this vote will begin within the 24 hour period of collecting the sixth signature.  The voting booth shall be open for the normal election period of 72 hours.  The booth will open Monday, June 30, 2008, at 4:00 PM CDT and conclude on Thursday, July 3, 2008, at 4:00 PM CDT.

As there are 18 registered voters in the Southeast, I will close the booth and certify the results if tens votes are cast in either direction.

Current Tally:
Aye - 6 (DWTL, BrandonH, AHDuke, Sam Spade, MATCHU, SPC)
Nay - 0

You gave instructions above as to when you would close the booth and now you aim to contradict those instructions? If this booth is not open for a full 72 hours, I will contest the certification.

There would be no need to keep it open longer because a majority would have been reached.

We, citizens, have a right to vote regardless of how others vote or what the result is. Do you believe we lose our right to vote if our vote doesn't change the outcome of an election?

Our constitution gives us 72 hours to cast that vote. DWDL told us we would have 72 hours to vote. If he exceeds his authority or contradicts the policy he himself set forth, I will remind him of the limitations of his authority in a constitutional government.

Actually, he doesn't even have the authority to open this booth (I think).

Alright then, I will leave the booth open.  I just thought it would be in the best interest of the SE if that the election was already decided we just move on and keep trying to rebuild the region.  If you object, I will the booth open the full 72 hours regardless.

I'd leave it open. King of the Bench Press would want us all to vote! He's watching over us right now from whatever gym in the sky he's working out in!

We have to have a special election for Lt. Gov, not an appointment. It's the Southeast Senate vacancy that calls for appointment, not a special election.

Who is responsible for administering the special election Lt. Gov.?  Gov. Duke?  When should it occur?  How long do candidates have to declare?

The Constitution says immediately. It shoud be run by the governor. The constitution doesn't indicate when the deadline for declaring is; for a regular election, I believe it's noon, CST, the day before the election starts.
