An incredibly bad decision that sets an incredibly bad example.

It's Pasadena, TX.  Seriously, you didn't expect anything to happen here, did you?

Texas law is actually quite mixed on the matter - I don't think bringing a case of intentional murder would succeeded.  Manslaughter - better chance, but still...

Except, according him (and I'd assume the evidence) he was.  They were advancing on him.

How did he shoot them in the back then?

And they woudn't have been advancing on him if he hadn't gone outside with a gun.

erm, this isn't up for dispute. He did shoot them in the back.

Look, even Horn himself says he shoudn't have done what he did.

Do you have a link that shows that; the article does not.

He apparently veered off, but too late.  He's charging a guy holding a gun and is possibly taking evasive action to get closer.  Sorry, this looks like self defense as it did to the witnesses.

This case is right on the line and you generally should give the benifit of the doubt to the guy who was minding his own business over the guy(s) breaking the law.  We should just be thankful there was any investigation at all.  This happens 20+ years ago (maybe not even that long) and the cops say, "Thanks Joe.  I'll send the coroner out in the morning to get the bodies.  You think any them coyote's I'll get to 'em over night?"

Interesting case. I'm sure it'll make an episode of Law & Order or Boston Legal if it hasn't already.
