Good? Bad?  Obama says he's going to be keeping them.

Lefties - is this just something you have to swallow? are you one step closer to voting differently/not at all?  not that big of a deal?

Righties - OH NOES!  Obama is going to give all your tax dollars to the Muslim terrorists!!!!!!!!111one  Should we assassinate him before the election, just to be safe, or wait until he wins?

I don't think this issue alone would affect my vote, but it is a disturbing lack of judgement on Obama's part.

It suggests to me that both a.) he isn't serious about using the government as a tool to combat poverty-related problems and b.) he doesn't care about the constitutional requirement to keep church and state separate because of his own personal 'Muslim' problem.

Is the jackass who wouldn't vote for Obama yesterday "because he's a Muslim" really going to vote for him today?  Frankly, I hope not.

Obama proves himself to be useless once again. Would it really kill the dems to actually run a good candidate for once?

Obama needs a Sistah Souja Movement. This is it.

Did you even watch his run for senate in 06'? He played to the center-right so much...

O.K. So you rail against Obama for supporting Faith-Based Initiatives, and then you want Harold Ford to be our candidate even though he supports Faith-Based Initiatives....

I consider Ford's positions on drugs, civil liberties, the border and healthcare to more than make up for his stances on faith-based initiatives. Obama is a generic empty suit liberal so his supporting faith based initiatives makes him even worse. Clearer now?

I've always been in support of them.  After all, the Salvation Army is one of the largest aid providers in the US, and there is no way the government could be as effective as them if they tried to run it themselves.

I don't see any problem with it. I don't see any problems with vouchers, either.

Me neither. Just as long as proper oversight is given to make sure that the funds aren't inappropriately distributed.

I am proud of Obama for standing up for Faith Based stuff, even though I know it is partially for political oppurtunism. It is a good idea.

I do not support the use of public funds to proselytize to anybody.  That said, I think it is okay for faith groups to distribute government funds to combat poverty as long as they are doing it in a non-biased way and they refrain from proselytizing while doing so.
