No, because you view Matthew Shepard as more of a martyr for hate crime legislation than you do as an innocent human being who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. If you had said you are ashamed of how his death has become politicized, then maybe I wouldn't say anything but no you went the full monty and said you were ashamed to even share the same name as Matthew Shepard.
