Hmmm....
Coleman, he brings Minnesota into the GOP category, but he might alienate the right wing because he's a moderate, and conservatives are mad at Bush anyway.

Many Dems are fearing a Bush/Giuliani ticket. I know I am.

I don't think Rudy is the best option, he further alienates the right.

Not true. I heard many New Yorker's support Bush since 9-11-01. Many fireman, and police officers. The FOP endoresed Gore in 2000, and many threatened to leave the FOP club.

Polls showed Bush was tied with leading Dem here in 6/03 and is losing by about 10% in 9/03.

Rudy would add a lot to the ticket, but honestly if Cheney were to drop dead tomorrow there's no way the GOP old guard would put him on the ticket.  The religious right would have a fit.

This being said, I don't see the GOP dropping Cheney from the ticket.  Honestly, he's the one calling the shots.

Cheney's not going anywhere but I'd have to say I'd love to see a Bush/Rice ticket... Yes she has no real exp. but I like her so she gets my vote.

The fireman's union has supported Kerry since before Iowa, and New Yorkers have a similar reaction to Bush as New Hampshirites do which is harsh.

A Bush-Coleman ticket would make many go, why? But 2008 would show why. Hell, Bush 41 almost dropped Vice President Quayle for Colin Powell.

MiamiU is right.

Giuliani or Frist is my vote.

If Cheney drops, I don't think it'll be someone who "balances" out the ticket, like Giuliani. Probably another conservative Republican, like Frist, because Bush won't be running as a moderate this election; he doesn't have to.

OIF hurt Bush in NY. He was in great shape there before Iraq.  The fire, police, etc. unions will go for Kerry.

I think if Bush thinks his wins in the South will be big wins and electoral college overkill, he'd want to go with Rudy to make those votes count in other states with more EVs and lose margins in the popular vote in those Southern states.

Same with McCain, but it would be worth it.

Bush wanted to set up a possible Cheney to Ridge move, but Ridge flopped.  I think Rove's m.o. is to go center this year come hell or high water.  He'd grab Rudy or Powell or McCain in a heartbeat.

You Republicans wouldn't mind having Giuliani run as President, even though he's fairly liberal when it comes to social matters?

I'm not representative, being a Giuliani-Schwarzenegger-Coleman type Republican. I think Rudy is fantastic.
