I keep track of this for my amusement...

The national map right now according to the Atlas polling:

McCain: 232 EVs, 42.4%
Obama: 306 EVs, 46.8%

Extrapolating to an election result, assuming an arbitrarily fairly weak 3rd party vote of 2% or so:

McCain: 232 EVs, 46.7%
Obama: 306 EVs, 51.3%

McCain's 5 strongest:

Utah
Oklahoma
Alabama
Arkansas
Tennessee

Obama's 5 strongest:

Hawaii
Illinois
Vermont
Rhode Island
New York

State closest to national average: New Mexico
Closest state: North Dakota
Median state: North Dakota

50-50 map:

McCain: 270 EVs
Obama: 268 EVs

So that'd look pretty close...

Are you averaging the last three polls in a state or what, to get a percentage?
