Just seeing who's active...50 posts in ten minutes in this thread on the theme of....

CHEESE!

Only two rules:

1. You can't post stright after yourself

2. You have to have something substantial (ish) to add to the thread!

Blue vein cheese has a pungent aroma, and a strong tangy taste.

I am a huge cheese fan, and I must say, I am more for sharp, cracker spread cheeses. THey go well with meals or as a snack, and have a great taste. My flavour of the month: Asiago.

I like Roquefort, especially in dressing.

Unpasteurised cheese with a range of flavours should not be sliced until purchase otherwise it will start to lose its subtlety and aroma.

There is also a dish where Roquefort is used with mushrooms on chopped beef steaks.  It's extremely good.

Isn't there a potential disease problem?

I'm a very big fan of very, very sharp cheeses. They need to make more of that.

There's an aussie brand of cheese named 'Coon', but it's not racist Smiley

Potential, yes; and as a result some unpasteurised cheeses are banned from import to Australia. That said, many cheeses demand non-pasteurisation, so it's a price that must be occasionally paid.

Mainland Cheese used to be a good purchase at $7.50 for a kilogram worth of tasty cheese about five years ago, it had a nice texture and flavour and was always a treat when I went to my Gran's house for a visit. But now all is not well in Mainland, the cheese is now worth $10.50 for a kilogram of tasty cheese. It is now dull and lifeless and tastes like plastic. Oh how have the times have changed.

I don't eat cheese. I don't like cheese, and I eat everything without cheese (such as no-cheese pizzas, for example).

I agree. Someone who dares to blaspheme like that needs to be burned at the stake. Pizza without cheese?!
