Keep on making those free-trade trips to Latin American, McCain. It's really helping you up here!

Listen, if Michigan wants to remain in the economic Stone Age, that's their own choice.

In telling the truth? I'm sorry but Michigan really needs to get with it. I don't want that to see condescending but holding free trade against every candidate/being militantly protectionist is really annoying.

Ah but the point is to make Michigan think you're a protectionist. Doesn't mean you have to follow through with it.

I was talking about his campaign strategy. He's playing defense, trying to defend red states that are more favorable towards his trade policies (i.e. South West)

Times are changing. Michigan needs to adapt, not sit there and cry for a government bailout. Adopting a protectionist economy is a great way to send this country into the depression the Democrats are lusting for.

Fair enough. Your candidate may as well stop using it, too.

I agree, although he himself has not used it nearly as often as certain internet supporters, you'll have recognized.

Frankly, we've been with it for quiet a while. It's not like we, as a state, have been railing against the trade policies of the past few administrations. In fact, we've been embracing them for quiet a while, it's not helping.

Read my previous post to see what I meant before jumping on me like that.
Anyways, I resent the idea that Michigan has been just "sitting there" whining. It's blatantly false. I cannot tell you how many trips the Governor has made trying to lure investors to the state. It's just that the economic climate is so unfavorable to any company that it drives investors away. Your ignorance amazes me sometimes.

I'm far from a libertarian elitist on economic issues. In fact, the blue collar area that I have lived in my entire life has kept me rather down to Earth.
