I think of it as Turscany.

My friends,

I'm thinking of bowing out of this one. I'm having less time these days and the game is pretty much over for my part. In this game there isn't really any luck involved. If the odds are stacked, they're stacked. At this point this is looking like a slow death for Russia with England and France being the only ones with a shot at victory.
wtf? Why? You ever heard of the possibility of a draw?

I don't play for draws Lewis. Smiley Anyway, this game is highly unlikely to end in a draw. The likely outcome is for the rest of us to be wiped out by you and Jas and one of you wins. The only way I'm even participating in a draw is through being reduced to almost nothing, lose priority as a target and then grow back again. But playing 2 more months just to get a 3rd or 4th finish in a draw doesn't energize me enough. The game was realistically lost to me when you and Jas allied. From that point on I've tried a couple of gambles to turn the tables, but I made some costly mistakes and it didn't work out.

Anyway, you deserve the win I'm pretty sure is coming to you and I realize that as a good sportsman I should really stay on lose like a gentleman. Ordinarily I would. I feel though that I wouldn't be doing my best and that's why I'm leaving the spot to someone else. Perhaps that person can think more outside the box or something.

The German Empire would like to notify the nations of the world that it does, indeed, play for draws!  Unless, of course, all countries would like to surrender immediately.

The Kingdom of Italy agrees with our northern former neighbours, and would also support a draw.

The Grand Duke of Tuscany is, of course, willing to support a draw.

Haha, the enthusiasm for a draw is heart-warming for this old Russian bear. I think that would be rather unfair on Lewis though, who has somethng like a 70% shot at winning this.

Just to clarify I'm in the process of writing my orders for this turn right now. No rest for the weary.

I am certainly not consenting to a draw at this point in the game. I was referring to a potential future three-way draw, not a six-way.

Naturally, the German Empire was referring to any contingency, future or present.

So before retreats, the map appears thus:

Technically speaking, retreats are required for the two German units, however as both Gernman Supply Provinces have been seized (by France and England), Germany will cease to exist as an independent state following the retreats. Thanks for stepping in for Ben, Ilikeverin, and hopefully you'll join us again for the next game.

The map, minus those two German units, appears thus:

Builds/Disbands are:

France
Build 1

Russia
Build 1

Italy
No Change

Germany
No Change

Austria-Hungary
No Change

Turkey
Remove 1

England
Build 1

Also - I'm probably going to be doing a spot of babysitting next weekend Saturday night/Sunday morning for some friends who don't have a broadband connection. I'll probably be a little delayed in getting the map finalised next week, although probably not much later than today.

I disagree. You will rot in Siberia for this treachery.

Russia now controls all of Eastern Europe except (oddly enough) the Caucasus.

I believe so.

I was going to take over last week but I was sort of half-committed and then made Gustaf make the moves at the last second like a big jerk.  Smiley

I received two sets of (identical) build orders for Russia, from Gustaf and Lunar, so that order will stand. France is building a fleet in Brest, England an army in Edinburgh, Turkey will disband the fleet in Tuscany. I'll update the map tonight.

It's weird that you received duel orders, am I in charge now, or would Gustaf like to control this for another few weeks?

I can take over whenever he gets overworked or whatever.  I'm not like having nightmares about it or anything and he did build up his current status himself.

Turkey is so anomalous.  Will someone take Ankara and put Erc out of his misery?

At least my territories can defend each other for a while.

COMMUNIQUE

The Tsar died late last night. By all accounts, transmission of power has been complete and uneventful. The new Tsar enjoys the full confidence of the Russian people.

Just a reminder/apology that I'll be a little delayed in updating the maps tomorrow as I'm babysitting for my boss tonight and there is no internet connection from there. I'll probably be updating about the same time as last week.
