Wow. Descent into farce at turn #1.

Has whoever's playing as Germany been briefed on, you know, how to play Diplomacy?

Ok...so.

Someone should replace HappyWarrior. Are Muon or Jas interested in doing so?

Sure.
Though I'd petition for a restart (!) Shocked

It's probably fair for Jas to negotiate from now if he so desires.

So noted.

I think your level of interest in Berlin has reached concerning levels.

France looks a lot less scary on my practice maps now.

Good. Following focus group testing and discussions with our PR people, France decided to rebrand itself as the 'cool' and 'friendly' nation. Smiley

That's two moves in a row where my moves have surprised. Grin

Seems like you prioritized destroying Turkey (whom you must hate!),

Hate is much too strong a word.

Certainly though I have been frustrated by the seemingly fanatical Turkish devotion to Russian interests without any regard even for itself, which has gone on since almost the very beginning. It's been a long effort at removing Turkey, but I'm glad that that effort has been successful.

With Turkey eliminated, I wanted to comment on an interesting possibility that existed a few turns ago. France had a static fleet in the Gulf of Lyon, and with Turkey's knowledge there could have been an arranged dislodgement in the while the Turks still had their one home center. The rebuild of a Turkish army deep behind the Russian lines would have been a stunning stab, and the Turks would have almost certainly recaptured two if not all three of the Turkish home centers.

The Governments of France and Turkey were both aware that this was possible.

French Retreat
A Piedmont - Marseilles

On the game, I'm in favour of playing on as best we can rather than a 3 week suspension.

Yep. Needed it to deal with Turkish Tunis a while back.

The French army is retreating to Bohemia. It's really late and I'm going to bed now. I'll do the map in the morning.

Excellent

noooooOOOOOOOOO

ITALY

I thought Jas wouldn't have the guts to have his unit in Munich be in motion because I was likely to attempt to retake my Bavarian beer gardens.  Shucks, I could have taken it too now.

Grin

I figured you would know I was gunning for Venice and would defend Trieste from an  inevitable Italian retreat.

Thanks guys. Smiley
It's not an empire built to last, so I'm glad I snuck into a majority just in time.

Particular thanks to HappyWarrior for conveniently disappearing on Round 1 Wink

Kudos to Smid also - it's not an easy task to keep a game lkike this running for so long, but he managed it with a minimum of disruption and dispute.
