Most parties tend to die within 12-18 months of their founding. It will be interesting to see how long the SDP and RPP last.

I'm giving both until the end of the year, though I hope the SDP lasts longer.

Can we expect an update soon so we have a better idea the numbers going into the elections?

yup

Earl, Marokai can move now. The first move is free.

What makes you say this...?

The laws say one can 'change' their residence once every sixty days. Since a registration isn't a 'change' the first move isn't restricted.

That's an awfully loose interpretation. Do we have any precedent regarding this?

I don't see how 'loose' it is. The Constitution directly says "change state of registration once every two months." How is an initial registration a change of state registration?

I would like to see some precedent before making a final decision.

However legally, what's to stop Marokai from just editing his registration? That's something I have a concern about, actually. We need some new laws.

All I can say further is that I was assured by the Attorney General that such a change in registration was in fact legal.

that seems to be proof enough. I guess it's useless to keep a record of all the new people then.

Hmm, that's interesting. I can't say I agree with that interpretation though that's clearly how past SoFAs have interpreted it.

On the other hand, if we want to get into details, I believe MaxQue technically missed the candidate declaration deadline by 14 minutes.

Yes, but those deadlines are ridiculous. I hope than the new Senate change them.

By tje way, everybody I talked thought than that was on the third weekend of December, until I re-read the Constitution. Those deadlines and elections dates should be clearly written here.

IIRC there was even a law case about it, way back in the depths of time. Anyways, it's been like that since forever.

A complaint was made to my office about voter fraud (not the whole Ben/Populist thing).  I am going to hold off certifying the results until I hear more about this (or unless it doesn't materializes)

Does it have any effect on the results, if it is true?

If that is only for one vote, results can't change, since 1.5 votes separe the fifth place and the sixth place.

Technically, technically the gap is actually less than 1.5.
The count stopped because there was less than 1.5 votes available to redistribute and so such a count is redundant.

It is possible (though maybe unlikely) that the removal of a vote could change the outcome.

So, I guess Franzl would have won had he voted for himself.
