I am not a fan of Windows. I've used a Mac all my life. Creature of habit, I guess.

Ex-Mac OS X user (switched back to Windows because my iBook had horrible hardware problems and Apple was a S.O.B. about the whole issue).

I did like Mac OS X, but the fact that you are essentially locked into also using Apple's hardware is a major turn off.  Windows isn't particularly great, and most PC companies tend to shell out crappy hardware as well, but at least there is an element of choice.

I do still use an iPod - loving that feature where the battery capacity decreases significantly after a year of use. Smiley

I don't see why anyone would want or need an iPhone.

I would chastise the threadsh**tters, but nobody can threadsh**t like an Apple Fundie.  They deserve it.  They're almost as dogmatic as the global warming enthusiasts.

iPhones suck. They're full of bugs, they force you to work with the worst telephone provider ever, their monthly bill is way overpriced and not remotely worth it, and they don't even do much more than Blackberrys or other high end cell phones on the market.

One learns a lot about a product doing tech support.

That said, iMacs are pretty nice. It's cool how they take only about a  minute to load up after being started (unlike Windows computers.) And I'll admit Macs have better user interfaces.

If I had to buy a new computer now, it'd probably be a Mac, but that has more to do with Vista being utter crap than anything else.

You are missing the point about Apple. They take already invented technology and package it in a way that will be massively popular. The iPod wasn't an invention. There are MP3 players years before it ever came out. But it made MP3 players easy to use and good looking, and thus people bought them. The same with the iPhone. Smart phones have been out for years, and while they have more features, etc.. they aren't as easy to use as the iPhone, nor do they offer the internet and such like the iPhone has. The iPhone is far from the most featured phone out there, but I'd use it over my sisters blackberry any day.

That monthly bill is definitely worth it. I'm paying a few dollars more with Verizon and I obviously don't get as much.

Yes.  I find that it's a lot faster than Windows PCs (I've had this model since 2004 and it runs just like it did when I first got it).
