The Voting Booth for July 2008's propositions will be open from now until 23:59 eastern time, Monday July 21st. Voting is open to all citizens of the Northeast.

You may edit your ballot up to 20 minutes after it is first posted. Any edits after 20 minutes will result in the disqualification of your ballot.

The Its People Act

Whereas the public school system has a need for nutritious breakfasts and lunches, and

Whereas the Northeast has a large population of senior citizens, namely those in region funded nursing homes and hospitals

Be it resolved that the physical vessel of any senior citizen who expires in the care of a regional nursing home or hospital shall be collected and converted into high energy snack bars to be distributed to students attending a public K-12 school as part of their daily meals.

Preferential Voting Act

Whereas preferential voting is more representative of the will of the voters than the current first-past-the-post plurality voting method used by the Northeast,

Be it resolved that future elections in the Northeast for Governor and Lieutenant Governor shall be done by preferential voting, wherein, if no candidate has a majority of first preference votes, the candidate with the fewest first preference votes is eliminated and his/her votes redistributed, until a candidate has reached a majority of votes or there is a tie between all remaining candidates, in which a case a run-off shall be held.

Regional LEED Standards Bill
After January 1st, 2010 all new construction that meets or exceeds 50% of the total project that is funded by the Northeast Regional Government of Atlasia must meet The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design or LEED minimum certification standards.

Northeast Speed Limit Standardization Act

Whereas the member states of the Northeast Region need a cohesive standard for speed limits; therefore,

Be it resolved that:

1. The Northeast Region set a maximum speed limit on Interstate Highways as reasonably close to the "85th Percentile Speed" as possible, not to exceed 70 miles per hour.

2. The Northeast Speed Limit Standardization Act shall go into effect Jan. 1, 2009.
