DEMOCRATS & INDEPENDANTS: It's time to start posting a link to Dave Leip's Atlas on Democrat websites. The McCain people are clearly doing the same thing---and now the Mock Election is ridiculously biased.
It's much better when it is more realistic, and most know 2008 is not going to be a McCain landslide like the map depicts.
Balance out the map a little--and at least put New York, Illinois, and California back in the Democrat column where they belong.

Don't worry. It's early. It'll be fixed soon enough.

Better yet, just leave it as it is. The mock election doesn't decide anything, & the color blue is extremely pleasing.

Yes, it was much better when it was realistic with Obama winning 45 states and McKinney winning the rest.

The map was just trying to tell us that Georgia will go 58% Obama, 29% Barr, 13% write-ins.

After watching that horrendous mix of lies and B.S. at the Republican convention, I'm glad to say I'm not an independent voter anymore---I'm gladly a Libertarian Democrat.
Unfortunately for McCain, his appeal to independent voters isn't going to be very successful--voters like me are put off by the absurd Giuliani / Romney speeches blaming liberals for all of the problems when its been 8 years of a Republican president and 6 years of a Republican controlled Congress.
In the year 2000 the Bush campaign basically smeared John McCain to win a primary; the "enthusiasm" now shown for McCain is drawn from a desperate situation; an overcompensation for the fact that he cannot win the election--not only because Obama is a strong candidate, but because the Republican brand has been ruined by a neoconservative agenda and a below average President.
The Republican Party always uses their mantra about smaller government, yet Bush and the Republican Congress doubles spending. "Fiscal responsibility" is dead to the Party when Bush continually asks for "emergency spending" to fund two wars. The pledge not to "nation build" in 2000 is a ghost remnant of any reason/accountability/responsibility that the Republican Party once held.
This type of discordance between what they say and what they do is one of the main things that fuels the accusations of Republicans being "out of touch." The Democrats managed to nominate a rather ridiculous high-hopes candidate with many promises that may turn out to be false--this is many times better than electing a Republican who does the exact opposite of what he/she says 'e will do.
The familiar lines of Democrats want to "raise your taxes" doesn't have the same power when Obama wants to give a tax break to 95% of families.
Republicans have been successful in closing their minds to the proposition that they nominated a remedial candidate. The Atlas Mock Election shows a desperate ploy to show McCain's strength, very similar to how the American people will see McCain's weak attempts at bravado--that merely by being a tortured hero, his character and strong moral fiber will sweep-under-the-rug 8 years of a disastrous party and a disastorous President.
For these reasons, I'd like to see the Atlas represent more of an accurate picture of what's going on in America, rather than paint a picture of a landslide advantage towards a mediocre candidate with a whole lot of patriotism and a whole lot of failed policies.

Who are these new people? I've had an account since '03
I don't post on the forums much because it takes too long correcting factual errors made by fools
I like the Huckabee mistake where he says Paltin got more votes in Wasilla than Biden got in the whole '08 Primary---when Biden got over 80,000 votes (8x the population of Wasilla).
Laughable.

Yeah, I take it that organizing a US Elections Atlas GOTV effort is probably a sign of knowing you`ll probably lose the real thing.

So we now have a plurality of "Democrats" voting for McCain. Weird. I don't doubt there's a high number of Dems for McCain out there, but this seems ridiculous. I wonder if links to the Mock Election are making the rounds in specific Democrats for McCain communities? Or is this just Republicans having a little fun playing dress-up?

My questions regarding the current mock election:
1) What pro-McCain site has linked to the mock election?
2) Why hasn't a third party candidate (*looks at Barr*) had a similar flood of voters yet? They usually do.

I posted a link on the Chuck Baldwin forum and I haven't seen a rush of people coming to vote. Of course thanks to Barr's campaign, Baldwin may start getting some former Barr supporters.
