I'm not to sure if it is like this everywhere, but has anyone else notice the increase in the Asian and Mideastern population in your area? I mean here in the Greensboro area notice whole area just full of them, which isn't a bad thing. Also I have seen the increase in Isamic churches too. I believe I seen like 4 or 5 of them around the Greensboro area.

We do have a growing Asian population here in Oklahoma City, but not so much the growth of Muslims.

Yes. The downtown of the city I live in has increasing numbers of viets. Why anyone would want to live in upstate NY let alone move here is beyond more but people do it.

I work in the same building with a company called Lutheran Family Services. And the help new people to the USA find a job, places to live, help them learn English ect. And I have talked to them and they said they have record number of new comers and most of Asian or Middleastern.

Anyway, about 12% Asians in my town, never really noticed less or more though

My area has seen a huge increase in African-Americans. On the buses around the area you can usually tell the changes because you see so many people. This morning my bus has several African-Americans; I don't think there were any ten years ago. In fact, I don't think I had any in my school until last year. It's so exciting!!

I figure that many are dispersing throughout the country from the original states of California and Hawaii.

I would say besides displaced blacks from Louisiana, the fastest growing immigrant group here is southeast Asian.

In Minneapolis/St. Paul it's obviously Somalis and to some extent Hmong.. but nearly as much as 20 years ago.

The village where I live I've noticed maybe one or two more middle eastern families and we've always had a reasonable amount of asian people (or at least I thought so). But you have to take into account where I live is about 96% white.

The more time some posters spend on this forum, the better their articulation skills will become. I think to be slightly serious for a moment, that that is one the major benefits of this place for the young. There is a relatively high degree of literary here. Ciao.

There are already a lot of Jews here and we have a lot of Muslims working at the hospital. As for Jewish churches popping up, no, not around here. I do know Greensboro is becoming more and more minority dominated, which is kind of upsetting to me. I really didn't like it when I visited there. Winston Salem is much nicer, IMO.
