Novak just told Faux News that he may have been "used" by "certain people" in the McCain camp. What a surprise.

I like Palin and it's not just based on looks.  Wink

That being said she, like Jindal and Crist, are too inexperienced. It would look bad. I wouldn't really mind Palin or Jindal being selected but it's a major liability.

Palin would be a terrible pick. She isn't even hot, so I don't understand the obsession with her.

Not hot? I question your sexuality. I'd do her.

I don't know how anyone could deny that she's very attractive especially for her age. However, I won't question anyone's sexuality just based on their opinions of one person. I am a very picky person when it comes to looks. I'm often an outcast as everyone else is drooling over some "hot" girl.

You can't do that. I'd love to do that if Romney is the pick though.

Sure I can, though it requires writing in John McCain and then someone else.

If Jindal is the pick, I may very well not vote for McCain.

I don't care for Palin's looks when Tina Fey already exists.  However, she is photogenic, young, female, and a reformer.  She will be seen as injecting new blood into American conservatism, and proof the GOP isn't exactly running Bob Dole Mk. II.  I really, really doubt that McCain can nget away with doing "business as usual" and picking Romney the establishment man.

Also, how is she supposed to be a terrible person?  The only possible source of outrage I can think of is over her thoughts about drilling for oil in Alaska and her stance on polar bears.

I have to say Phil...Romney is the one that will cause the least outrage.

I strongly disagree. I think that would be Pawlenty or Thune.

I don't think that you have to worry about that.  It would be the shocker of the century if he actually does.

Exactly. Romney will piss off real Republicans and plenty of independents. I'd prefer Crist to Romney.

Picking Jindal makes no sense because he's only been at his job for half a year, etc.

I guess McCain would want him because of he...

1) Is young
2) Satisfies the base (very conservative)
3) Reaches out to a previously untapped group of voters

Well... let's see-

Gov. Pawlenty- "That entire bridge thing could be made to show him as a symbol of republican incompetence"
Mr. Romney- "Politics as usual"
Gov. Palin- "Wierd as hell"
Gov. Jindal- "Really young and reactionary"
Gov. Crist- "Basically a McCain clone and is a bit feminine"
Sen. Thune- "I guess a pretty good pick..from a reigon of the base that is hemmoraging"

So, it will either be Romney or Thune. Thune will scare off all of the Hispanics in Nevada, Colorado and New Mexico. Might unite the base anywhere else.  Thune is not really a maverick at all, though.
