As far as I know my dad's always voted Republican. My mom hasn't voted since she lived in the city and that was over 20 years ago and she's never told me so I have no idea.

Mom voted for every Republican in her lifetime, except 1976...when she voted for Jimmy Carter.

Dad was a moderate to liberal guy, born in 1913.  He voted this way...

1936 -- FDR
1940--  FDR
1944--  FDR
1948--  Truman
1952--  Ike
1956--  Ike
1960--  JFK
1964--  LBJ
1968--  Nixon
1972--  McGovern
1976--  Carter
1980--  Carter
1984--  Mondale
1988--  Bush I
1992--  Clinton

NOTE:  Shortly after the 1992 election, Dad suffered a major stroke that left him with aphasia.  He could no longer read or discern symbols.  Ohio law permitted my Mother go into the voting booth and help him cast his ballot.  My mother, who still boasts about this, just voted the way SHE wanted to...not considering Dad's past preferences.  When I argued with her about the morality of this, she said -- "If I can do anything to stop the perverts, Atheists and baby killers, I will.  I get two votes now and I intend to use them."

Nice, huh?  Typical religious right behavior -- the end justifies the means.  So here are my Dad's votes in Ohio for the rest of his life...

1996--   Dole
2000--   The Decider
2004--   The Decider

It's particularly sad.  As to Dole, Dad might have voted for him.  He always respected Dole and, like me, had a soft spot for war heroes.  But he always admired and respected Al Gore (and his father) and would have very much liked John Kerry.  So there's at least two votes my mother stole.  She can be a very loving, good person.  But not in this case.

Mom
1968:  Don't think she voted, though she would have been eligible (by a few days)
1972:  McGovern
1976:  Carter
1980:  Carter
1984:  Mondale
1988:  Dukakis
1992:  Clinton
1996:  Clinton
2000:  Gore
2004:  Kerry
2008:  Obama

(Christian socialists unite - i.e. fill in the Democrat)

Dad
1964:  Johnson
1968:  Humphrey
1972:  McGovern
1976:  Carter
1980:  Carter
1984:  Mondale
1988:  Dukakis
1992:  Perot (uh-oh, someone moved to the right)
1996:  Perot
2000:  Bush
2004:  Bush
2008:  Obama (75% certainty - this is more of an anti-Bush vote than anything)

Mom's only been a citizen since '99, even though she'd been in the country with her Army dad since '72.
so,
2000-Bush
2004-Bush
2008-Obama
I tried to convince her to vote correctly, but to no avail until this year.

Dad, Strangely enough a registered Democrat
1980-Reagan
1984-Reagan
1988-Bush
1992-Perot
1996-Dole
2000-Bush
2004-Bush
2008-Barr or McCain, I've convinced him to consider Barr

It's Florida - actually quite predictable.  He'll vote McCain unless the election is over, I suspect.

1944: Dewey
1948: Dewey
1952: Ike
1956: Ike
1960: Nixon
1964 Goldwater (only because I told him he was sure to lose, so keep LBJ's margin down)
1968: Nixon
1972: Nixon
1976: Ford
1980: Reagan
1984: Reagan
1988; Bush
1992: Dead

Mom:

1944: Dewey
1948: Dewey
1952: Ike
1956: Ike

1964 Goldwater (only because I told her he was sure to lose, so keep LBJ's margin down)
1968: Nixon
1972: Nixon
1976: Ford
1980: Reagan
1984: Reagan
1988; Bush
1992: Bush

2004: Senile

Mom: Straight Dem. Never voted for a Republican in her life
Dad: Straight GOP except in 92 and 96 when he voted for Clinton. He likes McCain a lot but he's very mad at Bush and the Republican party and might go for Obama.

Probably straight Democratic in every election since 1972. The only plausible deviation would have been a vote for Anderson in 1980 (they lived in Massachusetts at the time), but, given their affection for Carter, I think this is unlikely.

I assume my father's voted straight Republican since 1972 (with the possible exceptions of 1984, 1992, and 1996, when he may not have voted).

Except for a (reluctant) vote for Bush in 2004, I don't believe my mother had voted, period, in any previous election (wanted to decrease her risk of getting called for jury duty).

Dad: Straight Republican since 1972, supported Humphrey in 1968.
Mom: Straight Republican since 1980, at least, don't know about her votes before then.

My dad liked Bush in 2000, but there is no way he would've voted for him in 2004. My dad has also said he liked Clinton. My Mom doesn't like Clinton, and I have no idea who she would've voted for in 2000, but obviously Kerry in 2004.

My parents have always taken a great interest in US elections. From what I know about my dad he would have backed the Dems in every race from '76 onwards (he is a big fan of Obama right now) My mum would have been the same from '76 onwards but she had a liking for Reagan and probably would have backed him in '84.

My parents usually are apolitical. Through 1996, except for '88, they voted mainly on how they were doing and wanted either change or the status quo. In 2000, my father didn't like some of Gore's business policies towards the environment and supported the Bush tax cut. It was probably the first election which he really gave a damn about.  Today, I think based off of me being in the service, they vote based off of who would be better dealing with foreign policy, thus they voted for Bush in '04 and likely for McCain in '08.

My dad has voted Republican in every Presidential election since 1984.

I'm not sure about my mom, she's basically independent. I don't think she actually bothered voting in the last election. She's not certainly not this time around and I can't say I really blame her.
