Really? If it had happened a year ago, sure, but you don't think the possibility of a legislative investigation while the campaign is ongoing would keep her from getting the nod? (Of course, this assumes McCain was considering her in the first place, and we may never know if he was.)
I doubt she was ever seriously considered but this seems like a minor scandal.
