Iowa, if he continues his 5-10 point leads there. IIRC, white Iowans are most liberal (by self-identity) white population in the country.

Why do people think he will win the white male vote in Illinois?

Because he's bound to do better than Kerry in his homestate, and Kerry only lost it by 3 points?

Interesting: He lost it by 7 points (53-46) ...

Exit polls both years were probably off. Lost by 3 points sounds like this year; Kerry probably lost it by 15 points or so in Illinois. Other state changes look really suspicious, like Rhode Island, and they should. MoEs are large.

Anyway...

This took me a hot minute, but here is the White Male Only map (according to CNN's exits):



Electoral Vote:

McCain 408
Obama 109
Tied 21

Popular Vote:

McCain 57%
Obama 41%
Others 2%

Barack would be screwed in the old days.

White Female Only map coming later...


Among other things, it shows how the Solid South didn't go away, it just switched parties.
