I have a problem with coming up with a career job I will actually like. I would like to take PolSci but of course that leads to nowhere and I hate law mainly because it is very tedious. I really only have few choices after this(well at least for jobs I would like). I could take Economics, try and make it the music industry(fail), or try my hand at writing.

I kinda need some advice. I also understand that I am not exactly great at writing but if I actually took my time and proofread I am actually pretty decent.

As I said in the other thread, there may not be many options but there are careers. No desire to teach or do consulting?

I wouldn't mind consulting, writing or being a commentator on news but I wouldn't want to teach. Anyways what do you mainly do for consulting?

A range of things when you're consulting politically. You're basically running a campaign (giving "expert" advice).

Get a broad liberal arts education (it will help you savor life more and help you fashion what kind of person you want to be) and learn to think and write, and take some economics and statistics courses, and you will be fine.

Actually, public administration is a very good degree.  It trains you to be anything from a bureaucrat (which is a great first job, if you can get it or serve as a policy analyst.

It also teaches you how to deal with a bureaucracy.

lol are you just assuming I can't think and write. Tongue(jk)

Anyways I like this advice. Besides lots of people say that Fortune 500 companies look for well rounded individuals as opposed to those only good at one thing so liberal arts actually helps. Not that I really want to work for them, I want to try and start my own "worker-centric" business where workers make more of the desicions but at the same time have more of a stake in the company.

It is like weight lifting, except the reps are for mind muscle rather than the biceps.

If you are trying to determine what college classes you want to take in order to get a good job in the future, I would highly recommend you go with Economics so you can become a CPA or Financial Analyst.  Believe me, both are in high demand right now, and will be for at least the next decade - both on the individual level and the corporate level.  You can enter the workforce at $45K easily in the metro markets.

Absolute garbage, unless of course you are very wealthy already.  I should know, as I am unemployable, with the above sort of degree.

By the way, this is officially the most depressing topic ever.

You know, anyone on this forum would be better than most political consultants around.

Because my ideas of staying away from wedge issues and moving the Democrats into a policy of de-emphasising social issues is so bad.

One of my partners found out mine and told me I should be careful around certain clients.  Interestingly, I have a principal who's very old and far more liberal than I am.

By the way to the OP, public accounting SUCKS!
