It really is - what's most interesting to me is the fact that we've essentially been growing at the same rate since June 2006.  So, we were growing at the same rate back in 2007 when nothing happened politically as we did during the primary season.

There was a very slight uptick in posts after October 2007, though.

Man, that period right after the 04 Election turned this forum into a ghost town.  Officially the numbers went up, but almost no one was posting.

But we did have the "I will now accept my accolades" thread.

I'd be interested in seeing a graph for the rate of change of the members, if you could do that.

We had posts and threads at about the same rate after October of 04, it's members that really fluctuates.  Although, we had a big rise in topics and posts in January/February of 08

As in, first derivative.

Fantasy elections probably kept the forum going at that time.

As in, first derivative.

But the derivative would be 0, because it's a constant number.  The  closest thing to the rate that we have is in the actual statistics page, where it shows how many new members joined per month.  All I did was add those up to get my numbers.

I would like to see the number of posters who actually posted, if only once, during the month.

Those would be very meaningful statistics for sure.

I think you're implying that the second derivative would be zero.  You're talking about the rate of change of the rate of change.

The rate of change is clearly non-zero, because the number of members is not staying constant.
