Primary

Kenny Hulshof - 45
Sarah Steelman - 33
Scott Long - 5
Jen Sievers - 3

Guess Longmentum has fizzled out.

General

Kenny Hulshof (R) - 42
Jay Nixon (D) - 48

Sarah Steelman (R) - 41
Jay Nixon (D) - 50

Not surprising that Nixon's lead has shrunk, since all evidence is that he's a pretty mediocre candidate. If he fumbles this one, I think his political career is finished.

Please let this be true. If Hulshof can overtake Nixon, this will be a major victory for the Republican Party.

I'm not challenging your assessment, since I sure don't know any better myself on this one, but why is Nixon a "mediocre candidate"?

I would be shocked if Nixon lost this.  Im betting that he pulls out a narrow 50%-48% victory in the end, with Hulshof leading until St. Louis reports at around 11PM.

Okay, I admit, it's mostly a guess, but it seems odd that someone who's run statewide six times isn't running away with this.

Hulshof should be a formidable candidate. He's a pretty effective guy.
