I'm leaving for Montreal (by road, o/c) in two hours. My flight to Paris is at 8PM tonight from Dorval. I'm flying alone to Paris. Hopefully the goddamn customs won't be fascist today.

I'll be in Rennes tomorrow morning EST (tomorrow afternoon European time).

Happy for you if it's operated by AF. If it's with AC, you have my sympathy Smiley

It is Air France. They've gotten a bit better recently, even. Before that they were quite bad.

I've only flown Air France within Europe, so I can't really comment on their long-haul flights.

I did fly with Air Canada from Frankfurt to STL via Toronto. It wasn't a very nice flight....
(Are canadian customs officials even more unfriendly than European/American ones? I had that impression at least Smiley )

Yes. Canadian customs officials are very bitchy and rude people. I hope they won't be too fascist tonight, or else 'twould be a bad start to the trip.

Possibly in the Saint-Malo/Cotes-d'Armor area, which is approximately where I'm from.

Very nice. Saint-Malo is a medieval walled city, and was once an independent city-state. Dinard, across the Rance from Saint-Malo is your typical posh upper-class city with a high percentage of old WASPs. Saint-Briac-sur-Mer is also very posh and upper-class, and the home of John Kerry's cousin. Saint-Brieuc in Cotes-d'Armor is a left-wing industrial city, but the Pink Granite Coast after Saint-Brieuc is beautiful. The northern Finistere coast is also very nice.

Yea we found out last year we were part French, from Brittany last year.  Thought that was interesting.  Is there anywhere with a high percentage of Catholics?(Thats where my family is likely to have lived)

France is something like 75% Catholic, and Brittany (was) one of the most clerical regions in the whole of France. Though Cotes-d'Armor is a bit less Catholic than average, especially in the Commie belt.

Well, sure, but the French are even less Catholic. They're far too enlightened.

Sorry but that junk of land in western Europe (and another dump just a bit north of it) gets me pretty passionate.

I love how you insult other countries but complain when they say anything critical of America.

I love when people think they're mentioning good examples when they know they have nothing to back it up.

I don't care if people are critical of America. Go ahead and criticize. We're not perfect. I am not one to go crazy whenever someone points out a problem with my country and I bet you know it, too. This is the second time within twelve hours that I've been labeled an ultra nationalist when I'm not. BRTD even had to back down from this claim.
