Inspired by debate on another thread.

As said in that thread, $18/month.

About 175-190 dollars depending on how much I run my a/c. I have levelized payments and if I didn't have that I'd pay 300/month in the summer and about 80/month in the winter.

As I said in the other thread, it's $40 a month. Bear in mind that I don't use air-conditioning. Back in 2000 when it was 103 oF that one day, I just sweated it out.

Haven't gotten my full July-August bill, but one week was like $1.34.  I doubt I've kept that up, though.

Do you live on your own?

Anyway, I pay nothing. It's included in my rent.

$180 this past month, an extreme. More like $40 in winter.

$80-100 during the summer, $40-50 during the winter (1br apartment). Though Dominion Power has jacked up their rates by 18%, so who knows what it'll be now.

Jesus, I want to know if you guys have small houses or just don't turn anything on.  Mine was about $500 this last month, $600 this time last year but I got a more efficent AC unit.  BTW my house is about 4,000-4,500 sq ft. if that makes a difference.

About $140 when I'm running the AC constantly during the Summer months, and $40-$50 in the Winter when I'm not using the AC. (Heater uses gas rather than electric, and I don't use it much anyways since I have a high cold tolerance) The price tends to be between that in Spring and Fall since AC use is intermittent.

I have one of the larger bills here and I have a small house (1100 sf) with window units we use only when we're in the room and computers as the largest drain.

Do you cool the whole house in a NJ summer?

Last month I paid $146 and that was running the central AC for the entire month.

I live in an apartment, 1300 sq ft. That makes a difference. But you also may need some better insulation. Also, if you've got rooms you don't use much you might want to close the vents in them and keep the doors closed. Also, check your AC filter - having a clean one can make a world of difference.

Electricity, gas, and water are all one consolidated bill here. Utilities run one hundred and change in warm months and two hundred and change in cold weather. Natural gas is supposed to get really pricey this winter. Hopefully, I don't ever break $300.

Uh, yeah, your parents' house being about three times the average probably makes a difference.

$301.66 for this past month, mostly because of the central AC.  There's about 1,750 square feet in total.

Well, a lot has to do with my little brother always leaving our 42" TV on all day and the other one playing 360 24/7 on a 37"

Usually around $15-25/month, but that's mostly because my landlord jacks up the price from the public meter.  Also I use the A/C all the time except in Dec-Feb.

Approximately $95 (£50) for gas and electricity (its a combined bill, and I cannot be bothered to work out what share is which). Again, split between 2 people.
