Most of us either rent or pay mortgage, and maybe a few of us own the roof over our heads. Is anyone here falling victim to the recent housing troubles?

My payment is $450 in exchange for a room with no bed (I sleep on a mattress). But at least I have access to most of this sizeable house. I even pay my rent by cash.

We bought our current house without a mortgage, so no, I was unaffected by the recent housing downturn.

I pay 3500 SEK a month, which is about 500 USD a month with the current exchange rate.

EDIT: that includes everything...electricity, internet, water, etc. There is no stationary phone though. And we all chip in to buy toilet paper and detergent and stuff.

750/month for my home. That's plus taxes and insurance. If I didn't have taxes or insurance on it would be more like 525.

Rent alone is $85 per month.  Adding in utilities my total monthly nut comes to around $100 on average.

Equivalent of $1550 (£820) for a three bedroom terraced house in the centre of the SE England town I live in. Shared between me and a friend. We have to pay our own utilities, etc. Lots of space to store our crap, which is a good thing, because we've got a lot of crap.

You are very tiresome, GM.  The issue of age of consent has not arisen on this forum in years, but when it did I merely expressed support for the political postion of NAMBLA - its fight for freedom - and stated clearly that I did not share their predelictions.  So implying that I 'rent' 'kiddie videos' is quite baseless.

(btw, where could one rent a kidde video? I'm pretty sure it is illegal and thus not rentable.  Buy, maybe, but not rent)

Manufactured homes aren't that bad. A lot of them can cost over 100k dollars. The main problem I have with them is they are like a car, very little resale value.

Then you have my apology.......sort of.

It was $905, but my new lease starts next month but it only goes up to $915, which includes water and sewer. It's a 1300 square feet two bed two bath apartment, has a fireplace as well. It's a pretty good deal for the area.
