What does this post mean? Is it now on the floor open for debate, or what?

Splendid. The bill is silly and a waste of time. What is this, some hatred of something being priced at 4.3199, because folks will be fooled that the price is 4,31, when it really is more like 4.32? Please! Is this how we want to spend out time? How do we kill this bill with dispatch, and get it off the friggin floor, and move on to the next item in line? I move to table it, and call for a vote on my motion. We do have a table motion in the books don't we? If not, we desperately need one.

Yes, you can motion to table. Though I must say that we really have precious little non-forum affairs-related legislation to debate.

Well Xahar, drop by my surgery office, and propose something, and we can work on language that if the bill passes, will leave the Supremes the functional equivalent of the Maytag man. One of my missions is to help my constituents come up with "arresting"  legislation, which even if I oppose, is positioned in the most effective light to pass, and stand the test of time. Of course, if I think the policy is bad, I will then work to kill it, but I want to work to kill game that is worthy of me to kill on policy grounds. I want to kills bucks, not gophers.

This might be a good time to say that I came up with this legislation.

May it be noted that while I sponsored the bill on behalf of Xahar, I was never in support nor had anything to do with writing it

I'll be moving this to a vote tomorrow if there is no further debate.

Don't bother the tabling, Torie. It'll be quicker to just vote it down.

Okay, maybe I'm crazy but I can't find a single reference to tabling a bill, a motion to table, or tabling legislation anywhere with the OSPR or any of the current Senate rules and regulations. If anyone can help me out here that would be greatly appreciated.

Don't bother Colin. Xahar said there was, but maybe he's wrong. I will look it up in due course. Tabling makes more sense when it saves the 7 day thing, clogging up the queue.  But now we are moving to a vote anyway.

Maybe we should get tabling motions into the procedures, with shorter vote times, with the result moving the bill to the back of the queue.

I second the motion to table the bill.

We are now voting on tabling the Gasoline Consumer Protection Bill. This vote requires the aye votes of two-thirds of the voting Senators to pass.

Please vote Aye, Nay, or Abstain.

Aye

This is actually easier Torie. This vote lasts two days and only needs a two-thirds majority of the voting Senators, so abstentions do not count.

You aren't the PPT, you don't get to say that.

And I'll escort myself out of the gallery before I get thrown out.
