My answer is obvious.

It's still Scottish tourists' favourite holiday destination. I've never been, but it would be the cheapest port of call air fare wise if I wanted to visit the States.

I went with option four. I hate the heat & I also would never live somewhere that is vulnerable to hurricanes. That completely rules out Florida for me.

A mixture of two and three. I visit there alot, my parents have a house down in the Naples area, but I don't think I would want to live there. Overall I'm mixed the area where my parents live is nice and I wouldn't really mind living there, the Tampa area is nice too, but I could never live in either Jacksonville or the Miami area. Probably not Orlando either.

A mix of 3 and 4.  I'd like to visit the Keys and the Everglades.. but I wouldn't live there.  My body was not made for hot weather.  I burn easily if I don't build up a tan and I get very hot and uncomfortable just being in the baking sun angle of those southern climes.  Also, my eyes aren't attuned to the brightness of the light.  The entire time I was in Okinawa, Japan I had to squint because it was so bright it hurt to open my eyes all the way outside.

But then again in the winter here, the sun is low enough that it shines right at eye level in the car at noon and reflects off the snow, making it very hard to see.

A mix of 2 and 3.

I think Florida is a nice place. I'd like to visit someday. But I'm not sure I could live there. The heat would drive me insane, and I really don't like hurricanes. But those are the only two things that are turn-offs for me.

4....and I have lived there.  It's not the most overrated state in the Union (Texas or Cali would run away with that title), but it's really close.  It has the perfect storm of stereotypically bad drivers:the elderly, red necks and tourists (often from out of country or red necks themselves, thus a double whammy).

..and then there are the bugs.

I enjoy visiting for spring training, but I couldn't see myself living in such an environment for much longer than a few months.

Actually the worst drivers are mostly in the Orlando area. I've driven these areas on a regular basis and most areas outside Orlando are very friendly to us large truck drivers, however, in Orlando they are quick to cut you off, flip you off, etc.

Well yeah, they're scared of you.  I spent a good chunk of my time in Florida behind the wheel of one of these

and mine didn't look much better than that.  On the bright side, I bought it for $500, drove it for a year and a half and sold it for $350.  Great mpg too.  Kinda wish I still had it.  Great beater car.

Any place that doesn't get snow is pretty much a failure to live in. That said, it is a great place to visit every now and then.
